"I'm quite serious about teaching art, and feel that it's not merely a job, but a calling." - Julie Marks Blackstone

Julie Marks Blackstone paints with thread, using a French knot method to create small treasures with thought-provoking art history connections. Pamela Husky conveys light, patterns, space, and a sense of place in nature using silk, mohair, wool, ramie, and raffia. Stephanie Grubbs creates small, cotton-thread vessels that elevate the ordinary into a place of importance with intricate stitches and knotting.

Impression

Impression, by Marissa Raglin, explores a mother’s complex role and celebrates women. Raglin creates ethereal, whimsical collages compiled from images "rescued from thrift stores, half-priced book stores, and estate sales". Vividly pigmented artwork contrasts with blank spaces, creating room for conversation. Her pieces evoke feelings of maternal love, as well as questions about the duality of motherhood as both personal and communal.
