Inspiring Oklahomans contributed ideas that reshaped our understanding of the world and inspired people to make change. The Intellectual Changemakers: Celebrating Oklahoma's Visionaries exhibit explores the contributions of innovators who made history through advancements in the realms of literature, medical research, history, academia, and social advocacy.

"I am sometimes asked to state my ‘goals and ambitions in writing.’ I suppose I have only one: to discover truth and publish it." - Angie Debo

This exhibit features portraits of seven intellectual changemakers: Hannah Diggs Atkins, Angie Debo, Ralph Ellison, John Hope Franklin, George Henderson, N. Scott Momaday, and Jordan Tang. In bringing their stories together, we hope to illustrate Oklahoma's rich past of contributing knowledge and ideas to the world.

Impression

Impression, by Marissa Raglin, explores a mother’s complex role and celebrates women. Raglin creates ethereal, whimsical collages compiled from images "rescued from thrift stores, half-priced book stores, and estate sales". Vividly pigmented artwork contrasts with blank spaces, creating room for conversation. Her pieces evoke feelings of maternal love, as well as questions about the duality of motherhood as both personal and communal.
