Featuring the artwork of five contemporary Indigenous women of Oklahoma, this exhibit focuses on themes of history, memory and identity.
Inspired by the 1983 poem “Remember” by United State Poet Laureate Joy Harjo, this exhibition features pieces from Amber L. DuBoise-Sheperd, Jarica Walsh, Kristin Gentry, Shelby Rowe, and Kindra Swafford.

Their works evoke themes of history, memory, and identity. Utilizing various mediums, they capture the literary spirit of the poem – the experience of discovering one’s self and place in the universe, reflecting on our connections to the natural world, and remembering the ancestors that make us who we are.

Depth and Space
This exhibit brings together abstract, geometrically grounded works that challenge the traditional boundaries of fine art mediums. Artists blur the line between two-dimensional surfaces and three-dimensional relief forms. By manipulating light, shadow, and texture, each piece invites visitors to view the work from multiple angles to reveal shifting perceptual depth.
