Biography
Oklahoma native Archie W. Dunham graduated from the University of Oklahoma and served four years in the Marine Corps before joining Conoco in 1966 as an associate engineer. He became a member of Conoco’s Board of Directors in 1985 and was named president and CEO of Conoco, Inc., and its parent company in 1996. He has served on several boards at the University of Oklahoma and received the Regents Award for Outstanding Service and Leadership to OU. He is a board member of the George Bush Presidential Library Foundation, the Smithsonian Institute, the U.S. Russian Business Council, and the U.S. Energy Association.
Fun fact
Archie Dunham is the only corporate senior executive to have held key posts in both Conoco and DuPont. In 1998, he was named Houston, Texas’ “Father of the Year.”
